        Chinese New Year, also known as Lunar New Year is celebrated on the second new moon after the winter solstice, typically during January and February. This celebration commemorates the coming of spring and the start of a new year on the lunisolar calendar. During Chinese New Year, people clean their homes and decorate them with crimson lanterns, couplets, and new furnishings, share gifts, including cash in red envelopes for youngsters, and engage in events like lion and dragon dances, temple fairs, and shopping at flower markets. 

        Beyond its Chinese roots, Filipinos celebrate the festival as a sign of luck, prosperity, and new beginnings. Filipinos celebrate the Chinese New Year because this celebration serves as the cultural ties between China and the Philippines. It's a time to celebrate family, success, and community while also fostering unity and cultural understanding. Many Filipino traditions have been influenced by Chinese customs, making the festival an important aspect of our local culture. As I mentioned earlier, it is celebrated through cleaning their homes. giving gifts such as cash in red envelopes, also known as the Ampao, and dances such as the dragon dance. 



        The Filipino-Chinese community has had a significant economic impact, with many entrepreneurs operating in a variety of industries. During Chinese New Year, these businesses frequently offer special specials or discounts, luring clients who want to start the year off right. It is a method for these entrepreneurs to give back while also continuing their successful heritage.

                 Time flies by really swiftly. Another 2nd quarter is done, and I have learned plenty of things in ICT. Making HTML Files in Notepad has been an enjoyable experience. The exer activities were a lot of fun to encode even though the keyboards we used were stiff. Learning the basic HTML tags and attributes was fun, especially because we were using the computers to make activities 1 up to 20 which were the simple tags to the frames that were a little complicated to understand.                  The major problem that we have encountered during this quarter of the school year was the rushed lessons, not only in ICT but in all subjects due to the continuous suspension of classes caused by the parade of typhoons that occurred.
